This section provides a listing of key information on science and math assessments administered by each state, such as the intended uses of the assessments and the alignment of assessments and standards. The information about the assessments are grouped into two categories: grades 3–8 assessments and high school assessments.
We include information about assessments that are required for student participation under states’ policies and also information about non-required assessments. These include science and math assessments supported by the state but which are optional for districts and schools as well as assessment initiatives, such as formative assessment programs, which are led by the state education agencies.
(Note that this assessment reporting system does not include alternative state assessments for students with significant disabilities or state assessments that are administered in non-English languages.)
